There was no leak and the filter fit as well as it would purchased from Home Depot or the company. They last about 6 months and are easy to install.

Just worked.
Fit perfect. No “tools” or weirdness required. Got 3 for $20 on discount brand, but u need a tool, not included, to make it work. $30 isn’t worth negating warranty on a $500 fix.Just get the lg filters

Water filters for LG fridge
The filters are easy to install and use. The biggest key is to remember to run several pitchers of water through the filter to flush the loose charcoal out of the filter and the line before you turn the ice maker back on so you don't get dirty looking water and ice in your glass. Overall, they work great and tend to last for 4 to 6 months depending on how much water you go through daily. For example, my in-laws typically get 6 months use from theirs while we only get 4 months out of ours as we drink a lot more water at our house. The filters have become more expensive over the last few years, but then everything has.
