Worked Like a Charm (I Think)
I just moved into a new house with 3 other roommates, 2 of whom own cats. The roommate who lived in the bedroom I now occupy also had a cat, and it was prone to having fleas. I move in, no pet, but to my dismay, I'm the only one in the house whose room is plagued with fleas. The landlord had steam cleaned my room twice prior to me moving in, and I had seen the house on several occasions, both before and after the previous occupant moved out, and there were no fleas. I guess the eggs were dormant for a while and decided to hatch to feast upon me.I notified one of my new roommates, who quickly set about flea bombing my room to no avail! In the meantime, I had been doing research so I already had this Adams Spray en route (as well as other products that I will mention shortly). The day it arrived, I sprayed my carpet and let it sit for a couple of hours (the instructions recommend letting it sit for at least one hour). I went in my room, stood still for a few moments. Usually the fleas attack my feet within seconds, I stood for several minutes, no fleas. My roommate vacuumed my room, and she had some food grade diatomaceous earth on hand (this ain't her first go-round with fleas), and she sprinkled a layer of this in every nook and cranny of my room. I let it sit overnight while I slept in a flea-free part of the house. In the meantime, I set up a Victor's flea trap, which consists of a light bulb and some sticky paper. In doing further research, I read that recreating one of these traps is as easy as having a desk lamp and a dish of soapy water, but that's neither here nor there. I checked the trap several times throughout the night, no fleas. I checked once more this morning, there was one flea stuck to the trap, a very dead flea. I again stood in several parts of the room, no fleas. So it's been 24 hours since I've used this Adams room spray, and I've yet to see a live flea. But as it's only been 24 hours, I'll remain vigilant. Also, because I just moved in, I was able to quickly and easily remove everything from my bedroom because I discovered the fleas before unpacking anything but my bedding. I also purchased a new mattress and box spring prior to moving in, and had a mattress cover on my mattress. So I will say that having an empty room and a protected mattress worked to my advantage. I also purchased the Vet's Best room spray for my bedding, mattress, box spring, and upholstered headboard for extra protection.Long story short: It's been 24 hours since using this spray in my empty bedroom, followed by vacuuming and a sprinkling of food grade diatomaceous earth, and I've yet to see a live flea in my bedroom.I'll update accordingly.UPDATE 5/21/2017: It's been four days. I found 3 more dead fleas on my sticky trap, which is odd because the trap was just sitting in a corner in my room, NOT turned on. Also, there was a live flea crawling on my arm today, and I sprayed it with the Vet's Best spray and it died instantly. I emptied my room once more and did another thorough spray with the Adams spray. So four days later, no new flea bites, 3 more dead fleas, and 1 live flea. I'll continue to update. I know it takes at least two weeks to be completely rid of fleas using this product, so I still stand behind my 5-star rating.7/27/2017 UPDATE: It's been a little over 2 months since my last update, so I thought I'd share my final verdict. There have been no more fleas or flea bites since my last update. However, the fleas may have migrated to my roommate's bedroom, because she ended up with a worse infestation than mine in her bedroom. She too used the Adams spray, and all has been well. Also, as a precautionary measure, I sprayed another round of Adams in my room so the fleas wouldn't find their way back to my bedroom. So far, so good. No fleas, no bites, and should I encounter either, I'll know what to do. Although I used several products, this Adams spray was an integral part of getting rid of these fleas. 10/10 would recommend.6/14/2025 UPDATE: It’s been about 8 years since my last review, and I was making recommendations to a friend with a flea problem, and had to recall this pretty devastating time in my life (dramatic I know, but this is the perspective of someone who didn’t grow up with pets so had no prior experience with fleas). I’m happy to report that after the July 2017 update, I encountered NO MORE FLEAS FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS. I moved out of that house in August of 2021, not because of the fleas, but because I moved across the country and got a place on my own. In those 4 years, I cycled through a couple more roommates, none of whom had any residual flea problems. I obviously don’t know the state of that home currently, but as the last remaining roommate with the flea problem, my entire home was flea-free for 4 years, even though the roommates with the cats moved out within my last year of living in that house. I haven’t had to deal with fleas since then, but if I do, I’m glad I know what to do. Provided the formula doesn’t change, Adam’s Best is definitely the way to go.

Works like a charm!
Works well for a flea infestation. We were at our wits end on what to do as we have a lot of indoor/outdoor cats and only recently treated them with topical flea treatment as the cost to treat them monthly is pricey. We were thinking of flea bombing the whole house until we used this spray. We sprayed around all the areas the cats lay and it seemed to do the trick! We ran out of the spray within a few days and we are getting more but I think that as long as we stay on top of giving the cats flea treatment and spraying the areas they frequent most, we might be able to control the problem entirely in a few months.

Effective but the smell is strong
This spray works. Within a day, I noticed a drop in flea activity in the trouble spots where my dog tends to nap. It dries fast and doesn’t leave a residue on most surfaces. The fact that it also kills larvae and eggs is a huge plus—makes you feel like you’re getting ahead of the problem instead of just reacting.Only reason for 4 stars: the scent is pretty strong. Not terrible, just very “chemical bug spray” and takes a few hours to fully fade. I recommend ventilating the room well after use. That said, for the price and performance, it’s a solid addition to any flea-fighting toolkit.

"Effective and easy to use!"
"Effective and easy to use!"Adams Flea Spray worked great for getting rid of fleas on my dog and around the house. The spray is easy to apply and dries quickly without leaving a sticky residue. I noticed fewer fleas within just a couple of days, and it also helped keep them away. It’s a relief to have a product that really works . Definitely recommend for anyone dealing with fleas!

Does More Than Nothing
For the past 3 years, despite using a variety of RX strength topical flea medications (the kind that get into the animal's blood stream) which are supposed to kill ticks, fleas, and flea larvae, my pets have been absolutely going through it from August to the end of October. Now, with climate change causing it to stay much warmer in the northeast for far longer (clear into mid November this year) the flea season has been extended. Add to that the fact that with the availability of RX strength flea medicines OTC which has caused some vets to postulate that fleas are evolving to resist these medications? What you get in my house is two miserable kitties and an itchy American Pit Bull Terrier pup (a breed already prone to skin issues). After going through the gamut of flea medications through my favorite online pharmacy, including even oral medication and STILL coming up with fleas I was at the end of my rope and basically willing to try anything.I already knew that the bottom line with any flea spray is that its only going to be moderately effective if my decades of experience with flea control has taught me anything. Unfortunately, I let all the positive reviews sway me, and I regret it.The good:This spray does an okay job of eliminating fleas that are currently on textile surface, like a sofa. I'm not sure how effective it is for flea larvae, but I can attest to it temporarily clearing off a small but irritating number of fleas on a sofa and chair that a certain dog keeps getting on when she thinks nobody is watching. The bad? That lasts only for a few hours. Inevitably, the dog gets back on the sofa a few hours later, the spray has lost its effectiveness and you're right back to where you started. With that said, I do think this spray has its place in your toolkit, but my advice is to cover your sofas, chairs, etc. with a thick cover like a drop cloth (if you can't keep your pets off of them that is), so that you can at least remove and WASH the cover in an effort to protect the furniture underneath. The reality is: washing textiles in very hot water (throw some bleach in there for good measure - this is why I use a heavy canvas drop cloth, as it can withstand a shocking amount of bleach that is lethal to fleas and their larvae, in my experience) is probably the best way to control fleas on soft surfaces, but there's no way to throw a sofa in a washing machine (that I've found).I think this spray is a good addition to an ARSENAL, but for best results? Set your expectations on low.
