A must-read for fans of classic literature-stories.
Dostoevsky’s prose is lyrical and introspective, filled with poetic reflections on solitude and the human need for companionship. The mood lingers long after the final page — it’s a tale of quiet heartbreak and the fragile beauty of fleeting moments.

A book for dreamer, loner and overthinker.
If you're a dreamer, loner, or overthinker, White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is for you.The main character is this nameless narrator who is a dreamer too. He spends his time wandering the streets of St. Petersburg and daydreaming. He is so lonely he even starts talking to buildings. Then one night, he meets a woman named Nastenka, who was crying, and they instantly click, something that has never happened to him before. He falls hard for her. Dostoyevsky captures it all—the dizzying joy of falling in love, the way everything else in the world fades away, the creeping sense that something’s not quite right, and the soul-crushing heartbreak when it all slips through your fingers. What’s crazy is how relatable the narrator feels. Every time you read it, it hits you in the soul. The dialogues carry such tenderness, such truth, that it feels as though the narrator knows your most intimate thoughts and emotions. It’s heartbreaking as you keep reading, but that’s Dostoyevsky’s style. This was my first time reading him, and I had to really focus at times to keep up, but it’s absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it! It’ll break your heart, make you cry. It stays with you, lingering in your heart long after the last page, a bittersweet reminder of love, loneliness, and everything in between.

Captures the essence of loneliness and the bittersweet nature of unreciprocated love.
Fyodor Dostoevsky’s White Nights is a beautifully melancholic novella that delves into themes of love, longing, and solitude. Unlike Dostoevsky’s heavier works like Crime and Punishment or The Brothers Karamazov, White Nights is a deeply personal and emotional exploration of the human soul. The narrator’s wistful idealism and yearning for connection make him both relatable and tragic. Dostoevsky’s prose, though simple, carries a profound depth that lingers long after the final page.

This book is beautiful beyond words 🍁
Book Name- “White Nights” 🤍🩶🖤Author- Fyodor DostoyevskyPublisher- @penguinclassicsGenre- Classic fictionPages- 128“That’s just what needs to be done, to listen everywhere and not just in one part, in order to come to an understanding.”🍁This book is just so beautiful beyond words. Recently I heard lot of readers talking about this book and immediately I thought to grab this one and I can say that I have done a great job by doing so because a reader definitely need to read this book for a beautiful story. Along with “White Nights”, there is also another story, “Bobok” that I enjoyed. This is the MOST romantic book I’ve ever read and I’ve devoured it so fast! I didn’t saw the time past, I was immerse at the sentiments of the main character that when I stop reading I’ve reached the end. White Nights and Bobok, are the two short stories that typify Dostoyevsky’s complexity. Here, we have as narrator a lonely man who thinks he is going to win the hand of a young woman he meets by chance because she appears vulnerable and in need of his manly wisdom and understanding, only to find that she’s in love with another man. What a shock that is for the narrator. And it’s an even bigger shock when the man she loves reappears and off she goes, leaving the narrator to contemplate a life of utter loneliness and despair. So what? You might ask. But this story was written in 1848 when Dostoyevsky was just 27. It was written at a time when men were supposed to go out into the world, thrusting their way, making something of themselves with their womenfolk trailing obediently behind them. In the Victorian era real men were not supposed to be lonely, isolated, timid, shy, and acting as though their whole reason for being was dependent on the whims of a young woman. Cracking stuff. And in Bobok we have voices from the grave and there’s not much to look forward to! According to Dostoyevsky the after life is going to be as full of hypocrisy, petty jealousies, resentments and spite as this life. If you think Dostoyevsky isn’t worth reading because of his race and gender, then give this selection a try.Review- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

must buy
absolutely in love with this book. Another Dostoevsky masterpiece to add to my collection. Unlike other books from Dostoevsky this one's easy to understand, so its perfect for beginners entering into the world of russian literature. the plot of the book is too good. the book is small but that's alright considering the price. It can be easily carried and im gonna take this on my next trip. The print quality is also really good. Considering the price this is a steal.

A Dreamer has his dream shattered
Not Dostoevsky’s best work, but still a good read.
