The idea here is perfect, and the connectors fit perfectly
The idea here is perfect, and the connectors fit perfectly. Unfortunately the build quality was poor, and my connector malfunctioned in less than a day. I'll assume that this is a random qc issue, and that the majority of people who buy this exact model will be fine, but I drew the short straw and received one that was effectively DOA.Basiacally buyer beware, but it's cheap and if you end up with a good one, then congrats it does exactly what it's supposed to do! I on the other hand, am going to try forking over a bit more cash for one with higher build quality.

If you need this cable, you need it badly
If you need this cable, you need it badly. I naïvely bought a regular ATX power supply to upgrade the OEM power supply in a Lenovo E32 tower computer. When I went to install it, I discovered the E32 motherboard had an incompatible 14-pin power socket instead of the industry standard ATX 24-pin socket. Some research on Lenovo's support forum led me to this cable. It mates the standard ATX power supply to the motherboard. Beware of a related cable which is male and female on the opposite ends. That other cable mates the Lenovo power supply (laughably called an IBM power supply) to a regular motherboard.

Works on a Lenovo M92p
Ordered this adapter to install a EVGA 500 watt PSU in a Lenovo M92p. Added a EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SSC video card to the Lenovo that pulls lots of watts, so the bigger PSU was needed. The adapter fit perfectly on both the PSU 24 pin connector and the motherboard 14 pin connector. The adapter was twisted 4 or 5 times to shorten it's length, and none of the wires pulled their pins out (be careful and watch closely if you do this so no pins are pulled out). PC starts up fine and shuts down fine. No issues at all.

Not for use with TS140, other Lenovo servers?
Unable to get this to power up a Lenovo TS140 with a standard ATX power supply. I tried a $120 be quiet! 500W PSU and my TS140, as well as with an eVGA 800W P2 unit with the same machine. Hit the power button, hear the relay kick in and the fan spins up, but then power cuts out immediately and everything shuts off. Everything works when the original PSU is connected directly to the motherboard. Unfortunately can't recommend.

Doesn't work
Did not work for my Lenovo M92P. As others have described, I hit the power button, it spins up for a couple seconds, then shuts off, but keeps cycling on and off. Screwed up the install on my HD, so got a new PS, reimaged the drive, and the same thing (with the exception of drive problems) happened. Got a different brand of PS, this time light came on, fan spun for a second, then nothing.

Lenovo is crap. This adapter is not.
I will never buy a Lenovo PC again. Who makes proprietary PSUs?? Every other PSU I've ever purchased, and every other PSU in any PC I've ever bought was a 20 or 24 pin. Ridiculous. But this adapter is great and I really appreciate that a product like this exists for people dumb enough to buy a Lenovo. Won't won't make that mistake again.

I loved using this adapter while I needed to
I loved using this adapter while I needed to, I had a Lenovo erazer x315 mobo which got an upgraded 630W PSU and lenovos proprietary cable prevented me from using it, this one works perfectly and even comes with a sleeve on it which is surprised they don't feature

Great solution to upgrading to bigger power supplies!
ordered this for a friend and resolved his issue with needing to upgrade the power supply on his Lenovo slim-line computer to the typical standard size of a computer tower. (He swapped the computer case to do this so that he could add drives and video card, etc.) Cable works great and recommend it to others... only thing to be mindful of, is its LENGTH! Way longer than is needed for many reasons. But you just tuck the extra away in a corner to the tower somewhere.
