Marantz Audio Video Receiver Audio & Video Component Receiver Black (SR7012), Compatible with Alexa (Renewed)

I needed to upgrade my AVR to something with preamplifier outputs and Marantz and Denon seemed to keep popping up in my research. I went Marantz as it had a better reputation for music (compared to Denon being better for movies) . I was originally just going to get the SR6012, but saw this ad for the SR7012 Certified for only $100 more. As I only run a 5.0 configuration right now the extra channels were kind of superfluous, but I did get an extra 20 wpc. With 4ohm speakers that was important to me. I expect to eventually upgrade to an outboard amplifier that will give me a little more headroom, but I suspect with 8ohm speakers this thing would fly. The Auddyssey (sp?) calibration system worked really well. Very user friendly to use, though the cardboard microphone stand made me laugh. The onboard phono stage was just acceptable to me - I ended up just using my Cambridge Audio CP2, and it sounds great still. If you plan on using this AVR with a turntable, I would budget for an outboard phono pre. In terms of the streaming situation, I have not fully set up the Heos stuff, but the Spotify Connect sounds really good and is very responsive. I see no degradation in the video quality coming from either my TV streaming content or my 4k blu-ray player. At its retail price of $2199, I don't think I would have been satisfied, but at $999 this unit is a great deal. For the record, there was no sign that this item was not just brand new. Everything appeared untouched, inside and outside the box. I will try and update the review as I gain more experience in calibrating the setup, but I recommend it highly based on its year end pricing value. Note. If you are more a movie buff (vs Music), you might try the Denon X4400h for $899. Don't delay as the 2018 models are coming in and are priced quite a bit higher with marginal improvements.

No dislikes at all.This Marantz sr7012 unit is replacing an old Sony STR-695 and it's a major upgrade. I absolutely love this receiver. It has tons of features and most impressive to me was the sound. The unit came from OneCall at about half the price and free shipping. I've ordered re-furbished Klipsch speakers in the past from OneCall and had the same great experience. They sent it UPS and it was shipped in an external box as well as the factory box so it was well protected and the content of the box would be unknown to any onlookers. The unit arrived in pristine condition and looks great and works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this unit if anyone is considering a Marantz.Features I am most impressed with are;The ability to assign connections of external devices to an input source and then rename the input source.HEOS adds a great functionality to streaming music with internet radio, music streaming services, USB media and even music servers on a PC on your local network.Two zones in addition to the main zone. (I think I will use zone 2 for the back porch and will have to figure out where I will use zone 3.)The user interface of the unit itself is intuitive and the HEOS and Marantz AVR apps I downloaded to my android device make it a breeze to operate.In conclusion, I'm very happy with my purchase from OneCall through AmazonIt was the perfect Christmas present from me to myself this holiday season.

According to everything I’ve read, this 2017 model year receiver is virtually identical to the SR7013 model that replaced it a few months back. The newer model sells for about $1,000 more than the SR7012 but has little more to offer. Buying a Certified Refurbished SR7012 chopped an additional $200 off the price and although I generally stay clear of refurbished products, I took a chance this time knowing it would be fairly simple to return if necessary with Amazon Prime.The receiver arrived quickly and was packaged just like a new unit except for the “Certified Refurbished” sticker on the box. All the expected accessories were in the box and packaged properly. New batteries were included for the remote. Everything looked pristine.I thought all was perfect until I tried running the Audyssey calibration program. Turns out the microphone plug was defective and would intermittently lose connectivity. Luckily I was able to complete the setup using an older Audyssey mic I had from another receiver. I did, however, call the seller, OneCall, to report the bad microphone. A friendly and apologetic customer service rep immediately shipped out a replacement at no charge to me via Priority Mail and told me not to return the defective mic. The new mic arrived about 3 business days later and worked perfectly.I'm very pleased with the receiver and the excellent customer service from OneCall.

Musical, robust AVR with so much flexibility. For the money, this is a really nice purchase. Upgraded from a Marantz SR5011. So, I like the brand. However, the receiver went well beyond my expectations. The HEOS is a nice touch, and Audessy set up was a breeze.for movies the 4K tv adjustments are better than my LG OLED offered. For music, the DAC and Preamp stages seem to work very nicely. Really, there is too much to comment on. Very nice AVR with well thought out options to make movie nuts and audiophiles happy.

Phenomenal AVR, love Marantz and the sound is incredible! The unit I received was perfect, had all accessories, and packaged well in its original box. These units are not warehouse deals, they are factory new refurbs from Marantz...so rest easy they are fully tested. They might be even a better deal than brand new as they only test one in a given lot number whereas these are all tested before they leave the factory. Very Happy!

A few minor hiccups with the software but love it.

Better sound than the Yamaha I had and might be displaying better image on my 4k projector. Worth the extra cash I paid.

Best receiver I’ve ever had !
