The Very Best of Chic

Great CD, filled with all the soul classic tracks that I remember from the late 70's / early 80's. Stands up to repeated playing at full volume and it brought me right back to a time when music was truely great. Impossible to listen to without being happy, forgetting about your cares for a short while and feeling the groove in your body and the beat in your feet. Forget about the lyrics (though they are intoxicating) and listen to the bass line and the guitar.

My mum is a huge fan of Chic's music, so I decided to get this CD for her birthday and she loved it!The CD covers Chic's early years and contains iconic songs such as Le Freak, I Want Your Love and Good Times. A fantastic collection of the band's early years!

What can one say, Nile Rodgers and Chic are absolute legends and this album has great selection of tracks. I love it.

Ah the best of latter days of the 70s so aptly captured in this one release!Chic without a show of a doubt set a precedent in the best decade ever the show stoppers literally in disco/RnB/Funk with their footstomping hard hitting mellowed out grroves hitting the high notes with just about every man woman or child alive whether delving into funk or not.Now after assimilating the above you scratch your head and ask which one does aptly deliver justice to me?I have owned 2 and am ordering one more its that insatiable apetite this band pulled off since its heydays-I just can't get enough!!!!!!!!The sultry,seething hook laden lyrics with pretty much more than mere intangibles cast in the mix throws up a sound so distinct that it upsets the balance of power with just about anything served up on a silver platter today.I first brought a chic compllation in March of 2012 on the strenght of having heard a couple of tracks on the RNB show played on Studio 1 FM and boy do I regret not buying them sooner.That one the Definitive Groove collection is the best releaed compilation of Chic released thus far with the hypnotic mesmerizing sounds amplified further with the best recording so how does this stack up?This has pretty much the good stuff creamed off the top in well balanced stereophonic nuance with clarity and remastering of an almost art form for its release in 2000-you have the full albulmn version of all their major hits with resolution thrown in to make them shine and sparkle a lil extra for emphasis standout tracks in this collection would be from their last good release Risque tracks like "What About Me"(Ah the machismo sprinkled over) "My Feet Keep Dancing"(watch this keep you spellbound) plus the hits "I want Your Love" and "Good Times"Ah!Good Times Indeed for less than 8$!

Grand to remember and dance to this nostalgic disco music. Awesome!!

Nile Rodgers le chic excellent album takes you back in time this album has all le chic at there finest. Highly recommend great tunes gets you dancing 💃🏼 great to cheer you up 🕺💃🏼

Amazon CD. Bought it for my dad for Xmas and he loved it and it took him right back to when he first heard the songs. Great album
