Neater Pet Brands Scooper Cat Litter Scoop, Blue

I really do love the Neater Scooper however it cannot function alone for me. I have 2 kittens right now so I have not had any issue with waste fitting through the opening...whether or not that will change when my kittens grow up will remain to be seen. My main issue with this product is how careful you have to be to prevent clean litter from entering the bucket while scoop/sifting. It makes the litter box scooping take far longer than necessary...and who wants to spend extra time cleaning the litter box? The best way that I have found to use this is to remove the scoop portion and scoop out the litter box with the 2 pieces separate and drop the waste into the bucket like you would with any other normal litter scoop.My favorite thing about this product is the bucket and it's ability to hold a small disposable poop bag. In fact, despite the drawbacks of this product, I actually purchased a second Neater Scooper for the sole purpose of being able to use the bucket with the scooper portion stored on top in the closed position (handle facing up) as a "lid". I actually use the DuraScoop Jumbo cat litter scoop since it makes the job go a lot faster and just use the Neater Scooper as the bucket with lid.The Neater Scooper bags are labeled as being scented although 6 boxes of refill bags later I've yet to find a single one with even a hint of any scent. Not only are they void of scent, they are almost too perfectly sized. By that I mean the bags are pretty much the exact size of the bucket which means there is almost no overlap on the sides. I personally prefer a fair amount of overlap so that cat waste is not touching the bucket. I have since switched over to using Pogi's Poop Bags with Easy-Tie Handles to refill the bucket. I am MUCH happier with the Pogi's bags, they are larger and provide plenty of overlap over the bucket sides, my favorite thing about them is they have a much stronger scent, and they are much cheaper than Neater Scooper refill bags.In summary, by itself I am not totally thrilled with the Neater Scooper. However I do love using it in conjunction with the DuraScoop litter scooper and Pogi's Poop Bags with Easy-Tie handles.

The quality of this is fine, and is as described. The thing is, it's just not very useful, unless you only have a small kitten using the litter box. The opening isn't large enough to allow solids from a full grown cat to pass through. Also, I have found that the little flap that "prevents the litter in the container from falling back out when you go to scoop again" gets very soiled, and pretty gross, quickly. Also, this flap is just that, a flap. So if I want to sit the scooper upright on a shelf or something next to the litter box, the flap falls back open. I was a little disappointed the first time I used it, because I thought it would be a way to contain the smell until I emptied it - but it doesn't do that unless you lay it down flat, which I hate to do because the scooper part is germy and gross, and I don't want it touching anything.My plan was to use this for my new kitten - I would scoop the soiled litter into this scooper and empty it at the end of the day (or two days, depending). It works fine for that, except for the flap issue. A few times my full grown cat has gotten in to the kitten's litter box (which I was keeping separate for the time being), and it was impossible to scoop those clumps with this scooper - just made a huge a mess.I hope this review helps! I wish I had thought about these things before I bought it.

It basically does what it says it does. You scoop the poop, sift the excess litter and drop the waste into the attached bag.HERE is my issue with it: This thing is way too big! I guess I was hoping it would be smaller. How could they make it less bulky and cumbersome? I have no idea.We have 2 covered litterboxes. 1 is made to look like furniture. There is a door that folds down to access the box for cleaning. I have to put my whole arm inside to scoop the poop. The other box, the whole lid comes off so there is more room to work. When cleaning the fully enclosed litterbox, it was VERY DIFFICULT to maneuver the scooper around. I found it VERY DIFFICULT to make sure I was not feeding a bunch of clean litter into the bag with the dirty litter. The scooper has a one way flapping door that opens under the weight of the cat's waste. If you are not careful you will also allow clean litter to pass through. When the door closes again, the clean litter gets trapped with the dirty litter.With the open top litterbox, scooping was easier. I was able to see what I was doing better, but it was still a very bulky tool to use. I had trouble keeping it from getting dirty along the whole thing and I hit the edges of the box as well.CLEANING THE SCOOPER: The cat poop touches the scooper as well as the little flapping door (obviously) and things get very dirty! It is gross! After each use I had to rinse it off outside with the hose. I found also that the exterior sides of the scooper had poop on it too and needed to be cleaned. I have no idea how that happened. I try hard to be clean. ESPECIALLY when it comes to excrement!IN CONCLUSION:As awesome as this was in theory, I find a regular scooper is easier. Much less bulk to work with.

Great idea and works,nice and practical ...only for small ''deposit'' and for daily routine clean up...small bags means a few scoops only....

Exactly as described. Takes some practise but once you get the hang of it works well.

This scooper works very well. Takes a few tries to hold properly but works great. Having a multi cat household I do find it fills quickly; however so much neater and cleaner to use then old scoops Definitely recommend.

Works very well but I would use standard doggie bags rather that the bags they supply with the product
