It starts off easy with most things just popping into place
The reviews stating that this char is a serious pain to put together are spot on. It starts off easy with most things just popping into place, and then you have to start attaching the arm rests and the seat/back rest. That's where the real frustrating comes in as most of the holes for screws don't line up well/at all and are just big enough for the screw so you'll find yourself putting a good amount of physical effort into getting everything together. Getting the wheels attached to the base, control arm to the seat, etc took me all of 5-10 minutes. Getting the actual chair part assembled took me a solid hour and a half at least. To be honest I'm a little afraid to be more than gentle with this chair for fear of a screw popping loose on me. Other than that it is a great chair. Quite comfortable, the individual parts are well built so it seems it should last a decent while. I will say the back rest is a bit on the shorter side for what I expected from a racing style chair. I am about 6' 1" and the head rest ends toward the top of my neck, so I can't really lean back properly. That said the top of the chair does kind of support the bottom of my head so I guess it kinda works out. Pillow is useless for me though for those reasons. I'd say this char is the perfect size for a person 5' 10" - 5' 11" or under. Shape of the back rest provides moderate lumbar support so your back shouldn't start hurting after sitting for long periods. Control arms allows for up/down and tilt/no tilt.Tilt will go to about 45 degrees, not willing to test it much further than that to be honest. Does not recline.Arm rest pads are firm but have some give so they are comfortable and the material feels nice on the skin. Does not cause awkward friction like leather would. As you could imagine since the arms are screwed on they are not adjustable.

Great Chair, so far!
This is an update to my below review. I have had the chair for about 9 months now and it is a good chair, however there are already tears in the outlying fabric on it. I'm not a heavy guy and I'd have expected it to hold up a lot better. The tears are in a weird location too--lower portion of the seat in the front. It looks like the seams just simply came apart. I'm going to leave it with 3 stars now (down from my previous 5) just due to the comfort level of the chair.Old Review--I have to say this was one of the most frustrating 'put-it-together' products I've ever dealt with. The bolts don't grip into the holes and don't seem to completely match up. Had to do a lot of forcing to get it to cooperate--much more than I would think necessary. Other reviews mention its ease of assembly and so I either got a defective one or simply was not meant to build this particular computer chair (have built several before without issue..). After finally getting it assembled (45 minute process that by the number of steps should have taken 5 to 10 minutes) I sat in it and found the effort to be worth it. This is an initial review and I'll update later if my mind changes, but so far it feels awesome in terms of support and comfort. It'd be cool if it had more adjustments, but honestly I don't think they're needed--it has up/down and tilt/don't tilt. Altogether I love it and think it warrants its price ($150ish for me).

No worrrying about any pain--posture or assembly!
I had bought several chairs from Staples in the past. I thought they were best for me--I sat in them before I purchased, "I ordered this chair online." The ones I have chosen from Staples were much much softer to sit in than this chair; however, sitting in those Staples chairs was like sitting on a stool with armrests. The difference is, this chair offers back support and I love how it contours my body. I am 5' 10" and it is a perfect fit. I was always concerned about my posture because I sit behind a desk all day. With that being said, I now know what a chair should feel like, now that I have this one.I have read the complaints about assembling the chair. I too struggled with alignment. It takes a pretty rugged person to put this thing together. "Let's face it--you only do it once." I thought I had stripped the internal threads once, but that wasn't the case. I don't think anyone will have stripped threads. Once you get the thread started you should be good to go, but be prepared for some pretty tough tightening. What I really want to point out to everyone is a tight assembly is that you want. Where the assembly parts come together the chair is not going to move around and the bolts won't come loose. One of my chairs from Staples came with a very loose fit and was easy to assemble, but over time, with all the sitting, the bolts loosened up and I had to keep tightening the thing. That made the chair feel cheap and I was very aggravated that everything slopped around--all the time. Although I didn't enjoy the fight to assemble this chair, I won't have to face flimsy engineering.I would recommend this chair to all. Everyone seems to enjoy its comfort.

Not a console gamers chair
This chair is for shortish skinny people, I couldn't even put my arms at my side to hold a controller in my lap and I'm not that big. I'm 6'0 and 185lbs. That aside if you don't hold a controller in your lap or put your arms at your sides then this chair was acceptable for the amount paid. The seat pad was thin and firm, the arm pads were ok and the neck pillow was fine but the strap kept popping over the seat chair. Ultimately the chair had to be returned because of the slender nature. Small side note, it did arrive with scratches and nicks, but I would've lived with that had the chair "fit" me.

Like other reviews stated
Like other reviews stated, this chair is a pain to put together. Expect to screw and unscrew several times until everything lines up perfectly. Having somebody else around to help hold it in place will also help tremendously. Other reviews are also correct timing-wise, as it took close to 2 hours to finally have it assembled. Aside from that, I had no problems with this chair. It's comfortable and sturdy.

Hints on how to put this chair together + month and half on, review
Being a competent DIYer and having made my own furniture I read the reviews and thought I'd be ok putting this togetherDear lordy, were the reviews right. Two of us tried to put it together, there was a lot of swearing and we walked away. After a good nights sleep I returned to it and here's my tip when joining the seat to the back1. attach the armrest to the back on the LHS2. On the RHS, join the arm rest to the seat3. Match up as best you can then lay the chair on the RHS (the arm rest being attached to the chair gives you more stability stopping the back moving out of place too much on the opposite side)4. The LHS is now in a position so you can manoeuvre the holes in the arm rest to the holes in the chair using your knee to help pull them together. Tighten 1st screw just enough to catch so you still have wiggle room when matching the second one. Tighten both screws fully5. Turn the chair over so the LHS is on the floor. RHS facing upwards6. Again using your knees to manoeuvre the back into position. Place screws in. Lightly tighten the first screw, then do the same to the second screw then tighten both fully7. Now put the chair on the baseMake sure you do this on a clear rug/carpet as it does mark easilyA month and a half on and one happy teenager. From a mum's perspective, the chair holds his back in a very good position, much more supportive than the previous office chair with a high back. Chair taking the bashing a distracted gaming teenager has to throw at it. Just one gripe, my son is 5'11" tall and the cushion is too low but he doesn't see it as a problem. Definitely recommend *****

Don't buy
Don't buy this chair. Assembly is easy but all chairs are easy to assemble. Huge crack noise and metal parts falling out of the internals after 2 months! 2! I've been using it for 6 months and it no longer stays at any height you put it at. It's so squeaky it's actually a joke. Worst chair I've ever had the misfortune of buying.

Doesn't last
Not even a year into having it and the right arm rest started to wobble. The holder for the screw that was in the main seat base had broken. Seems to be a main issue a lot of reviews have posted. Avoid.

Very comfortable and well built
Overall a very good gaming chair, great support and comfortable arm rests. Needs more cushioned padding in the seat and could do with more of a tilt recline but that's easy to deal with considering price.
