Huge Problem Solver for Digital to Analog Audio
What a blessing for those of us who still have tons of Analog amps, equalizers, and receivers. Not to mention other electronic devices which rely on the ubiquitous RCA plug connections (good old red and white audio cable connections, haha). Over the years I have purchased and still use several high end amps (in different rooms of the house) which, in my opinion, outperform many of the more complicated digital amps and surround sound systems, which are the current norm. Today, it is nearly impossible to find flat screen TV's (or DVD players, as well as other devices) with analog RCA, right and left channel outputs for sound. Most of them now, understandably, have only Digital sound outputs, such as the most common, Digital Optical Sound output or the alternative Digital Coax Sound output. That is where this simple little device saves the day.The Portta PETDTAP (digital to analog converter) covers all the bases with sheer simplicity. On the receive side, there is the little trap door port for a Toslink cable, which receives an optical signal (think red laser beam dot) from your TV or other digital device. So be sure to buy a Digital Optical Audio Toslink cable (varying lengths available and most common or 3' and 6'), to plug into the back of the TV (DVD etc), which then goes into the input on this little converter box. You will note that next to the little trap door for the Toslink cable is an alternate input (if you have only a Digital Coax Audio output on your device) for Coax Audio, which uses a single Coax RCA cord between the converter and your source. On a side note, for those interested, the Digital Optical technology was invented by Toshiba to connect their earlier CD players to their receivers/amps, for a clear digital PCM audio stream. Thus the name Toslink which originated from TOShiba-Link, and has since been adopted by most electronics manufacturers, as the standard for Optical Audio, sent over light waves (fiber optics), which are immune from interference from other devices or ground loops. Please realize that the maximum Toslink cord length is recommended to not exceed 5-10 meters (approximately 15'-30'). So it is best to use short cords (i.e. 3'-6') from the sending device to this little converter and then use long analog RCA cords from it to your analog amp/receiver, since analog cords do not suffer signal degradation over long distances. And of course, at the other end of the converter is the typical red/white (right and left channel) female RCA connections to run to any Analog amp, equalizer, receiver, etc. In my home theater, I found a need to use a "Y" connector for both the right and left channel analog outputs coming out of the back of the converter, to send the analog audio signal to two different devices, which works just fine, if you have the need to do so also.Great device. Works flawlessly. Extremely simple that anyone can connect without using a manual. And I would give it 10 Stars, if I could, since it solves a HUGE problem for many of us, who don't want to be forced to go out and buy new receivers with digital inputs. I actually have three of these devices to connect 3 flat screens and projectors to 3 different amps I am using in different rooms of the house. So go for it !!

A Fantastic D/A converter at an AWESOME price!!!! Solid build quality only accentuates its awesome value!
I bought the Portta Digital/Analog Converter for my PS4 to be used on an analog set of multimedia speakers and it works FLAWLESSLY!Pros:Excellent quality build - all metal body!!!Simple to set upSmall in stature so as to not take up any bulk amongst your a/v setupCons:Requires a power source (how many PLUGS do you have behind your a/v system now???)Ultra bright power light that is just shy of being a DJ spot lightIf you are like me, you tend to keep things simple and do not require an extensive receiver @ your a/v setup. I am currently using a Logitech Multimedia speaker system that pretty much ANNOYS everyone in the house when a crank it (haha!) for gaming, so it's more than enough to entertain. However, with more and more next generation consoles going digital audio only, the annoying need to buy a converter is all the more apparent. However, the Portta Digital/Analog Converter takes care of this situation! What a fantastic little item!I have it set up between my PS4 and the analog switchbox where all of my consoles (and cable box) route into my a/v switcher (though my LCD tv is only 6 years old, I am amazed that they only thought I would be hooking up 3 devices TOTAL!!!). I use BlueRigger cables between all of the items and I can safely say that everything sounds fantastic! I've read a few reviews mentioning about a hissing or static, but I have not encountered this. I have another converter (from FIIO) which I paid multiple times more for, but still has the exact same results. The build quality is fantastic and quite unexpected for this price point (all metal casing). The connectors are great and the small size allows me to just tuck it away within the plethora of cables behind my a/v/ stand without being obtrusive. The only complaint I have is this: why does everyone use BLINDINGLY BRIGHT LED's for their power indicators?!?! The Portta is no exception - it has a very bright blue LED. Fortunately for me it is tucked away in the back within the cable cavities, but it is still bright and can be seen once I shut everything down for the evening. Oh Yeah, it does require having it's own power source as well, so you need to plug in ANOTHER power adapter (I have 2x 10 port surge protectors back there!!!) You may find it interesting that the FIIO can be powered by micro USB, which can then take up one of your USB ports (I have it plugged into my XB One, therefore it turns off when the XB1 is off, so no annoying LED!).This is a great converter at a FANTASTIC price! You won't be disappointed!

Does not have UK plug as described
Only comes with US plug, also does not include batteries nor have a battery compartment as stated. Very bad false advertising.

Muy buen producto
El artículo se siente bien construido y de calidad. Tiene un led azul que puede ser un poco molesto pero tiene solución poniendo una cinta para taparlo. Mi única sugerencia es un interruptor para encendido y apagado.
